Welcome to 2013 Accreditation Site @ LA Mission College

Accreditation is the primary means by which colleges and universities in the United States assure and improve quality.  Accreditation asks us to

  • Measure how well we are meeting our goals and how well students are learning and achieving.
  • Maintain an on-going self-reflective dialog about educational quality and institutional effectiveness.

The purposes of the Self Evaluation Report of Educational Quality and Institutional Effectiveness (formerly Selft Study Report) are to

  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses based on continuous evaluation and quality improvement activities.
  • Be analytical and forward-looking rather than simply descriptive without improvement plans.
  • Identify areas that need attention.
  • Provide evidence of achieved results, evaluation of the results and examples of improvements which are integrated into planning processes.

The self-study provides the Commission with the institution's assessment of itself as a whole.
